Help! Should i still go to prom with my ex even though he’s back together with his ex from university?

so one of the most popular guys in school asked me to prom back in February which was weird because i was in gr. 11 and we’d never spoken before and he had a girlfriend away at Uni. But about a week after he asked me they broke up and me and him started seeing each other, and we’d sorta been unofficially going out for a couple months when i left and when i came back he said he wasn’t over his ex, which was exactly what i thought would happen but he insisted that i wasn’t a rebound and that he really liked me allot. So now I’m back to being a nobody and his ex came home and now they’re getting back together. I still really like him allot but I’m mad at him for breaking my heart. The worst part is he feels terrible and is trying to make it up to me, he’s always really nice and tries to make me laugh, he still wants to go to take me to his prom and have a good time. I want so much to yell at him and tell him I’m not going but i want to, i know I’ll have fun, and he’d be a perfect date.

Better go with him than give some other poor shmuck false hope. You two deserve each other.
